Meet the chef
World Famous Sandwiches was created by Chef Ilya Khalyapin. Over a career spanning more than 15 years, Ilya has built his experience in some of Toronto’s most respected kitchens. As Executive Chef and Culinary Director, he has led large culinary teams across Michelin Guide-recommended restaurants, boutique hotels and prominent restaurant groups.
With a degree in chemistry, Ilya brings scientific precision to his cooking, with every ingredient prepared to bring out its best character.
This discipline shapes World Famous Sandwiches: focaccia is baked daily, while sauces, pickles, marinades and preserves are made from scratch.
